    Hi,

I could not find anywhere an option to have the hard drive "On" when the lid (top cover) is closed.
Do you guys know if it is possible?

    Thanks
    Justin

Right click desktop => Properties => Screen Saver tab => Power button => Advanced tab => set "when I close the lid on my computer" to "do nothing".

I had it on stand by. My thinking was that stand by will turn off the monitor but keep the hard drive "alive".

Now, it doesn't turn the hdd off but keeps the monitor on too.
Is it possible to define how the system should behave be on stand by?

    Thanks
    Justing

Sorry, I spoke too soon. I think by having the setting on "do nothing" actually turns off the monitor and keeps the hdd alive, which is what I wanted so everything is well

    Thanks
