    Hello everyone,

I recently just burnt a DVD full of pictures through Nero for my son and then hibernated/slept my notebook. Then this morning when I turned it on again I tried opening a normal CD in my optical drive, the CD was spinning and the light turned on but it simply didn't work, in My Computer it shows an icon but just simple says 'CD/DVD Drive'.

I don't know what more information I can give besides that I've had the notebook for around 9 months now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
    Brendan.

    A few questions -

    1. Just making sure, did you try restarting?
    2. Have you tried other CDs? DVDs? Blank media?
    3. Does restoring to an earlier time change anything?
    4. This probably has nothing to do with it, but what about uninstalling Nero? If it does nothing, you can always Sys Restore to right before the uninstall, so you've nothing to lose.

Hope some of this helps, good luck!

    Hey Malia,

I've done all 4 of those points you listed up above and it hasn't done anything. I think it might be a hardware problem? I might take it to the Asus repair center tomorrow if my son and I can't figure it out tonight.

    Thanks.
    Brendan.
