Ok i have an older Asus z70va its been working fine as of late after replaceing the video card fan. Now all of a sudden last night i go to turn it on and everything seems normal fans are whizzing but the screen stays black. None of the function keys to turn the brighness up or LCD on/off work. Its stays going for about 20 seconds then turns off. At this point it continues to turn on for a second or 2 then back on and continues this loop. I have no idea whats wrong. Any ideas??

    Do you get any beeps?

The first thing to do is to try taking the memory modules out and reseating them. If that doesn't do it you might try clearing your BIOS settings (if there is a reset button somewhere). It could be a hardware failure though, and since you mentioned the fan is audible, it's probably not the fan.

Also, are there any messages you get at boot? Like failed to find boot device, etc...

Connect an external screen, if that works then it's the screen. Otherwise it can be several things.

Have a look at my "No POST" checklist in the Tips and Tricks linked from my signature.

When you replaced the fan did you also dismount the heatsink? if you did did you replace the thermal pad or left it as is?
