Hey there.
For a good time i've tried to make my Windows XP act more like Vista at my Asus G1S. In vista i use Power4 Gear (which sucks in xp), to control the cpu usage. I've made a profile that uses 75% of the cpu, and set to "Moderate battery", which makes it possible to play CS 1.6 and CSS with a fair fps, without it going crazy (warm and noise). Now.. I'd really like to know a good way to do this in XP.. I tried NHC but there it was either Silence with **** performance or Loud with good performance.. is there really no way to make it more like vista?
thanks

Hm... idk how to do that better than what you're doing now in XP, but if you liked how it worked in Vista why don't you just stick with Vista?? Or partition maybe?

I just like to look of XP better (yeah its weird i know, i just got bored of Aero).
Customation of xp is alot wider and there some programs i like there.
Its smaller in size too. Better gaming performance (somewat) and stuff. -

I'm not trying to harp on ya because you like XP. >.< I just wondered if you'd thought about running both...

oh well.. why?
use xp for everything else, then vista for gaming? I have to be the first person on earth that would do that

I suggest using RMClock, instead of Power4Gear. Power4Gear is even less transparent and customizable in XP than Vista.
RMClock has some issues with Santa Rosa, though, so be careful about that. You mainly need to tell it explicitly that your CPU is Mobile from the Advanced CPU settings page. Then it should correctly identify it as Merom in the CPU Info page. If it does, you're good to go, follow next my guide in Tips and Tricks (link in sig) to setup your profiles. The 70% profile is easy for you to do once you understand how RMClock works.
Make Asus G1S more silent in XP.
