    Hi all,

It seems that one cannot get a copy of the A8JP manual on the Asus website. Can anyone suggest where I could download it from?

    Cheers, Kilgore

I had the same question about the A8Js when I ordered it. I was hoping to read it while I was waiting for the shipment. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available anywhere for download.

Call customer support and ask if they can email you the manual in PDF.

    On other note,

"Asus just rewrote their manual to change the definition of the InstantON button. The manual used to say that it would start a media player without booting into Windows. Of course, this never worked as advertised.

Now, in order not to have to fix it, they changed the manual to say that it merely starts up a media player while in Windows. I guess they couldn't figure out how to get the kernal to work with the dedicated video memroy. Some people have said that the feature works fine on the laptops with shared video memory."

Can you use the A8Js manual?

The only differences between the two models are the graphics card (X1700/7700), OS (MCE/Pro), and RAM (2x 512 MB/1x 1 GB).

The user manuals are not differentiated between the unique models of a series. What this means is the manual should be the same for all of the laptops in the A8 series.
