Asus notebook have Mat****a UJ-831d dual layer drive.
I've just tested DVD-R burning with Samsung Pleomax DVD-R 4x media, but it fails at around 70%, with hardware error (Tried Nero, Deep Burner, and Burn4Free). Have someone informations about Mat****a UJ-831d firmware update?

Yeah, thats a Pansonic drive...... it's 8x dual layer, but I'm not 100% that'll burn -R disks...

I know that UJ-831b is certainly dual layer / dual format (in the W1 / M6 / Z71a)

I'm not sure if there is a difference between the "b" and the "d" - I thought those were just color codes.......
