I'm pretty sure that it's glossy, I just wanted to make sure though. It is the original screen in case anybody is wondering. I'm planning on upgrading to a 1680x1050 because for me the resolution is just too small. Also, what is yalls take on matte screen vs glossy? I prefer glossy since it looks great in my room and my hp that had a matte wasn't bright enough.

I believe the Asus G50VT-X5 already comes with a glossy 1680x1050 screen.

In general, glossy screens are much more reflective than matte screens. If you plan on using your laptop outdoors, a matte screen is usually preferred.

My mistake on the resolution :p

If you want to replace your current screen with a 1680x1050 (glossy) panel, I know Asus uses an AUO panel, model B154SW01 on their G50 series. You can check with google products to find the best price.
