    Hello,

I've just bought an Asus UX31 Zenbook and I'm wondering what's the best charge&use strategy to maximize the lifespan of the battery. I'm standing between two options:
    1. Fully charge, and after that use the device until it's fully empty (full charge/discharge cycles).
    2. Always connect the charger on when possible, even when the battery is full.

I would love to have my battery stand the test of time as long as possible. Also, is it better to have the laptop in sleep or in full shut down. Is the small power leak in sleep mode more harmful than the one in halt?

    Thanks in advance!
    Amir

Yes, there is a small power leak when the system is asleep (unless you're referring to hibernation). Sleeping is a low power state, but the system is still technically running.

Full charge and discharges are really meant more for calibration. If you do that repeatedly, you'll put a lot of wear and tear on the battery.
