The forum members have spoken, for the Month of May, the ASUS Forum MVP is SRD, a wonderful member who've owned more ASUS laptops then considerations of laptops that MysticGolem went through. Congratulations!

Those from last month who weren't nominated again... don't feel bad, it's a month to month thing and we can't all contribute a ton every month... However, if you do want to take it out on someone, this month we were helped in our choices by last month's winner MysticGolem.... 3 of the 5 choices were actually on all of our cards... so there were more obvious choices this month. Let's see how month two goes.... Good luck to all and don't forget to vote!
-
My vote went to Mastha for his top-notch tech advice, willingness to accomodate requests from forum members for benchmarks, etc. and his excellent sense of humor. Good luck to everyone!

Oh, I see what's going on here, I wasn't good enough this month?...no I'm only kidding. Good luck to everyone. I see someone took my advice and changed the hue or tint of the Asus MVPs name...(a.k.a MysticGolem as of right now.) It's kinda orangey, but It stands out much better, I like it!!!
Once again, goodluck to all the nominees! Thanks to the mods and a special thanks to Justin for putting up the prize again. Those thanks are on behalf of all of us -
You know i actually voted for myself now i feel bad for doing it. Well if i could change it, Id vote for theundertow.

I'll even that back out for you SRD...you got my vote.
-
Thank you i appreciate it.

You changed the layout of the poll a bit, there's no option on the bottom to see individual results anymore, like who actually voted for who, you have to click the number now to get there instead. Just thought I'd point that out.
-
Whoa I've been away for a while. Busy with school and new job and new toys for my desktop.
Congrats to the nominees~!
Now I must go through all the threads to check out what you guys wrote and then vote. OMG that's going to take forever.
-
My vote goes to SRD. Besides IMO the nomination is an award inself. Wish best luck to all finalists!!

-
Thanks for all of the technical insight.
Mastha - thanks to you as well for all the great W3j coverage. -
Thanks all for the honorable mention
I've been a lot busier this month than last, but I'm glad I could still contribute something!
As for the vote, going for SRD again as well. Always helpful, polite, and willing!
Also, hats off to Mastha for the flow of good information -
Wow... this is quite a close match between SRD and mastha212
-
With my luck I'll probably lose by one vote
-
Yea... and It will be the vote that you placed for SRD. lol
-

@ majselbaum : that's funny but I don't recognize you from any forum I'm member of
but still thanks for your vote
@ SRD : don't get mi wrong, I'm just very sensitive to cheating and it looks a little like a cheat. IMO you didn't see that there is an option to check who voted for who and after you realized that you wrote that you feel bad and you want to change your vote. That's how it looks for me. I don't want to offend you or argue more about it so let put this to an end alright? I think we can still be on friendly footing, do you agree? -
OK first off. Its not cheating to vote for yourself. If it was they wouldnt allow it. I voted for myself yes im not afraid to admit it why would i be. I just changed it because i realized after i would rather vote for someone else so i had it changed. and i know you can check who voted. This is the second month we did this thing for votes. We all joked the first month about voting for ourselves so i did that. But then changed my mind. Dont worry im not offended. But if im one thing its honest i say it how i feel it is and i dont hide anything.
mastha212: I don't want to offend you or argue more about it so let put this to an end alright?
What do you mean i never even brought this up to you so how would we be arguing about it to even have to put an end to it. -
Ok man, I didn't know that you were joking with voting last month, I just get this pool serious that's why I react like this. Ok, I think we got that straight.
-
OK i dont care if i win this or not I would rather someone more deserving win anyways. but VoyTECG, Wojtek, majselbaum But these three people opened their accounts today. have no posts and all voted for the same person. Not saying someone is cheating, But people who have not contributed to this forum and just opened their account shouldnt be able to vote. Can someone check their IPS to see if they are the same person.
-
They are not the same, they for sure are from Poland but I can swear that I haven't told them to vote for me. On my forum I just praised about that I am one of the finalists, that's all.
-
i really wasnt blaming you or anything. I was just saying people should not be able to basically make an account vote then never visit this forum again. This is supposed to be for people that actually have used out advice or it has helped them out.

I didn't want to say anything, but I'm going to have to side with SRD on this...There are way too many votes for Mastha212 that I don't recognise at all...and with those last few first time posters things are getting out of hand. Since I only read and post in the Asus forums, (more often then I'd actually care to admit) and since this "contest" or whatever you want to call it is supposed to be for the Asus section only, and not for all of notebookreview.com...I have to question what's going on? It's too bad things have seemed to go this way, but I really don't think this is a true Asus only race and something should be done about it. No offense Mastha, I'm sure you're a good guy, but I gotta call it like it is.
-
Good point, but I think the forum doesn't have such options to do this. But to be honest, as a moderator on my forum I treat this forum as a web's best laptop forum and recommend it to all people. Moreover much news I write I'm taking from NBR. So maybe they create account now, but I can asure that they will come back here sooner or later.
EDIT.
If moderators decide to remove me from poll, I'm ok with this. It's not a life and death matter. -
No there is no reason for you to be removed from the pole. You contribute just like everyone else.
-
CalibratedComa Notebook Evangelist
No one was asking for you to be removed from the poll...I was only suggesting that EVERYONE'S votes be looked at closely...to make sure they make sense and follow the spirit of what this "Contest/Poll" is all about.
-
No, that's ok. I'm not feeling guilty but participation of "new users" can be annoying for some people and I fully understand that.
EDIT.
I must say, you Americans have very liberal approach in some mattersor maybe I am to serious
-
wait did someone from europe just call americans liberal? im confused isnt it the other way around
-
Hmmm I don't think so, at least I think you're much more liberal than conservative
-
actually in the political sence im much more conservative. with some middle of the ground views. or were you just talking about americans in general.
-
I said it some matters and I guess I meant in generall
Ok, i'm going to sleep, it's almost 0:30, c u later
PS. I hate politicsand I don't care about it
-
Blanket statements make me warm and cozy...or not.
Maybe look at it like this Mastha - the "contest" if you want to call it one, is about people voting for who they think makes this forum a great place to be...whether it be due to their technical assistance, product knowledge, general insight, hell...maybe just because they make you laugh. It's the overall positive (cumulative) effect they have on the other members here.
The last word is really key though - members here. If people are voting that don't frequent this section or are voting based on what you guys do in the forum you mod, then it's not really what the "contest' is for...and I'm calling it a contest because if you take it that way, maybe you can take it too seriously.
With all that said, I do think you've made a very positive contribution this month and that is why you've been nominated and are amongst the top in votes.
May the best man/woman win (the best this month anyway). -
Canadians are the liberal ones.
SRD baby you got my vote. -
Thanks for the vote i appreciate it.
-
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
The nominees this month have all been well deserved.
However, to keep things clean and avoid any potential problems/conflicts like this in the future perhaps starting next month a minimum number of posts to the forum might be required in order to vote, say 5-10? If the poll can't be set up like this, perhaps the mods could simply check the votes cast and remove those who don't qualify? -
Bump, 2 more days til it ends!
-
Ok, well I rambled on enoughIn any case, Thanks to everyone in the forum for posting - you've probably helped more people than you realize, and there's a reward in and of itself [cue cheesey "awwww" inspiring music].
