Hi, i own a V6v and until now its a great machine. But with only 512mb of ram and the using I am having with this machine I need more Ram. I m thinking about buying another module equals to I have now, but the vendor here in Portugal dont have it, and i dont want to import it. So it is my problem, when i search for another module ram i find kingston modules (very good mem) but when I see the specs.... 533mghz (good!) but CL4? Damn it is noticible insted of CL3 but at 400mghz? Or the modules are quite the same in perfomance? And another one. Does anyone trys put to different mem module with same timing but diferent makers? Like 1 module Hynix at 400mghz and 1 module kingston at 400mghz for example, does this works when I want dualchanel? Sorry my english.

    thx

The way the pentium m is set up i forgot tha actual reason but makes up for it. But you wont notice a difference get the 533mhz ram..

For it to be dual channel though you have to get equal memory. say 512 and 512. but if you have 512 and put in a gig even though its not dual channel is will run better simply because you have more memory, Dual channel is overrated and has little real world difference. If the memory you have in the V6V now is 400 mhz and you buy 533 it will only run as fast as your slowest memory.

The truth is both are around the same price these days so you might as well go for the 533 anyways.

yeah i agree with u. And where i live is dificult to find 512 at 400mghz. So i go for the 533.

hi, i try a module from infineon (512mb 533mghz cl4) and it works in dual chanel (the last module at 400mghz cl3 of corse). I hope ti works well with my new module of kingston.

    thx
