My full sized Memory Stick inserts FLUSH into the slot. I tried to push it in not as far, but it wouldn't read the card until I had pushed it all the way in.

Yes, I can get it out with tweezers (with much trouble). But, there has to be a better way. Has anyone else run into this? I have emailed ASUS support so see what they suggest. Surely you aren't supposed to get the stick out with tweezers each time. That can't be good design.

I will update when I hear from ASUS.

Have you already asked this question once before this? DUPLICATE POST!

Just wait for ASUS to reply.

If you push it in a bit more after insertion, will it spring back? The SD card slot on my z63 works that way; I have to push it all the way in, and then it clicks and stays flush - to get it out I have to push it in again for the spring to catch and push it out to where I can easily grab it. Kind of like ballpoint pens, in a way....

That's how my dell works also.. yeah, a ballpoint pin is a good way to explain it.. definitly. Push it in to put it in, then push it in again, and it pops out.

Actually, I didn't post this before - someone else did about a memory stick duo card (much smaller than regular sized Mem stick) - and the suggestion was tweezers, I was hoping for a better suggestion!

The push thing is how my Toshiba works. I had pushed this one and nothing! However, after reading Clearskies, I REALLY pushed it hard - and it popped out!!!!! Thanks Clearskies - I would have never pushed it that hard w/out hearing that was how another ASUS worked. I am so afraid that I am going to break this thing - it is so small!

That is what I love about this forum - all of the helpful people.

OK - just got my reply from ASUS. I am SOOO glad that clearskies helped me. I was very impressed by the speed of the ASUS answer, they answered my question is approx 20 minutes!! However, I was not very impressed by their reply.

    Their reply was

" If you bought this laptop from local store, please contact them for help.
Otherwise you might need send your laptop back to us for repair. "

    My question was....

    [Problem Description]
I cannot get the Memory Stick out of the card reader. It is a full sized stick and it is flush with the
computer. I do not want to harm the computer by using tweezers or pliers. I tried to not push it in as
far but it would not read the card until it was pushed in the entire way. Please tell me how I am
supposed to get the Memory Stick out?

    Julie

Of course I may not have been clear enough in my question but sending it back is a little drastic. :) Glad to know they are willing to take computers however to fix them.
