I am potentially going to purchase a W3J in March for college use later this fall. When Merom comes out, will I be able to replace the Yonah processor with Merom? Will Asus definitely release a bios update?

Well, Merom is technically supposed to be compatible with Yonah... so yes, I guess theoretically it is possible.

Will Asus definately realease anything is certainly not something they'll put in writing.... so any answer you get from the forum is a shot in the dark. Technically compatible - but you never know.
