nice very nice .
atlast it is official , now i only need a cheap, good preforming merom cpu -
the reviews dont show a huge performance increase from yonah to merom...i havent seen any 64bit benchmarks yet but there's no 64bit software either...ill pass on this for now
-
20%... I'd say thats quite a bit. + 64 bit.
-
depends on the applications in question. In gaming i didnt notice a huge boost

It's just a matter of them releasing new BIOSs for the other models. -
i would upgrade just for the 64bit
but, i only really use linux (ubuntu), so i won't be using vista -
yep, pentium m notebooks prices are dropping. makes good budget lappies
-
yea as far as increase in daily tasks jump from yonah to merom wont be worth it, just mainly for the 64 bit really
-
Did they take the BIOS update down? It's not anywhere on that page you linked to.

I downloaded and installed it already. nothing really changed ... except for the bios version

I updated the BIOS. And I got:
1. Booting without warnings.
2. Windows XP can auto stepping speed.
3. Shutdown and standby is OK.
4. SuperPi 1M 24sec => 23sec
so goooooooood! -
Ken posted a way of getting the newer BIOS on the other website; http://www.notebookforums.com/thread165900.html
