I recently bought a logitec mic headset for the mic jack on my asus z81sp. It doesn't work well. When i test it in the control panel, i have to talk very very loud to get it to go up just one green bar and i have to yell to get it to go up above that. The internal mic works better, of course i still have to get very close.

So I tested my roommate's mic in the mic jack, same problem. When i do a soundcheck on his computer, both mics work perfectly, even better than the internal mic on my computer.

I set the mic volume all the way up in the control panel, nothing still.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix this.

I just hope this isn't a hardware problem.

i was just talking to a friend of mine and he says that he doesn't have to get up close to his intrnal mic to get results, he just sits back, talks in a normal voice, and i can hear him just fine when we play halflife 2 online.

Meanwhile, i have to get my face right up to mine to get results
