I want the "Middle Button" function by tapping both fingers on the Touchpad. Is this possible on ASUS U41SV?

I don't need those 2 or 3 fingers gestures and have disabled all of them in Synaptics Touchpad setting pages. I have asked ASUS support and they replied there is no such "Middle Button" function. I have googled several solutions but non of them really worked. The closest solution is by adding "HasBothButtonFeature" in registry then by clicking the physical Left and Right buttons will report "Middle Button" click, but that's not what I want. I also wrote a little program and found that Synaptics Touchpad didn't even report "Right" and "Left" button down event when I tapped with both fingers. I also installed an older version of Synaptics driver downloaded from DELL but it didn't work and functioned abnormally on U41SV.

Is there any hope that this "Middle Button" function working on ASUS U41SV?

Not sure about 2 finger as middle click. But something I did in the past is to map a zone on your touchpad for middle button (e.g. to right corner or something) -- you can do that via the Synaptics Touchpad software / Mouse Configuration tool

Thanks. I had tried it but had not get used to it. I have to locate the touchpad corner each time I trying to click the middle button. That's not as natural as both finger tap, which also have higher rate of accuracy. Frequently I clicked the wrong button while tapping the touchpad corner, also my fingers have to move further.

One last thought -- you can try Synaptic's scrybe software
    SYNAPTICS | Scrybe
It has support for multiple/multi-touch gestures and things -- not sure if it has your two finger double tap

other than that... not really sure sorry
