    Hey Asus-Crew,

So, just got my W90vp-X1 today (NewEgg shipped it overnight for only 30 bucks. <3<3NewEgg<3<3). I'm noticing the antenna on the back right hinge, and it got me thinking. I know the laptop doesn't come with a tv tuner installed, but the antenna port is there for a reason, right? Would anyone by chance be able to confirm if there is a spare mini card slot thats not in use with the ensemble x1's? Just before I go in and tear it apart myself. If there is, what are some opinions on buying a minicard off ebay and installing it?

    Thanks!

Did you end up pulling your W90 apart? i am thinking of doing the same when mine turns up..

from what i can gather they use the Yuan MC872 minicard ( http://www.yuan.com.tw/en/products/tuner/productscontent2.htm) which doesn't seem to be purchasable..

wonder if the more easily obtainable avermedia tuners would work? ie. Avermedia A306 ( http://cgi.ebay.com/Avermedia-A306-...34.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301:0|293:1|294:30) for DVB-T, they also have ATSIC ones..

The question is.. where is the slot, and will the antenna plug be compatible!!

I have a G50-X5. Had the same dilemma, port for Antenna, but not tv card. Purchased one off eBay (the AverMedia 306). Dropped it into the laptop after completely disassembeling it to get to the underside of the MB. Had to purchase the external antenna seperately as the one that ships with the card is just a wire for internal mounting. Once everything was there, It was up and running very quickly and I can get both HD and Analog TV from anywhere.
