Does anyone know if there is a miniPCI slot on the Asus A2500D notebooks ? It doesn't mention one in the manual or online.

Now I have my notebook, and its great, and I have a miniPCI wireles card to install, but can't find the slot.

    any help would be appreciated

    [ :D] found it!

its underneath the keyboard, just as I assumed, but to get the keyboard off, you need to remove the panel above with the power button.

you push down with a bit of force on it and slide it to the left, and off it lifts, then the keyboard will lift out just fine and to the right under a screw down cover is the miniPCI slot and under the center cover is the dual memory slots (mine has 1 X 512Mb PC2700 ram so I'm off to find another.) :)

It's an internal MiniPCI slot -- http://ec.synnex.com/sb/docs/A2H-Chapter%2004-v1.1.pdf shows how to get to it.

[Aside: Be careful sliding off the panel above the keyboard -- if you lift it up too soon you can snap off a couple of the hooks underneath. Anyone know where to get a replacement? [B)]]

As for what can go in there, the official card is actually made by Asus, and I haven't found anywhere to get it in AU yet. I've got a Gigabyte card on the way (Atheros chipset I think); I'll try that and see if it works or not.

Well, I now have a Gigabyte GN-WIAG01 in my A2D and nothing's exploded. [ :D] Windows detected it and allowed me to install the drivers, but I haven't actually used it yet. I won't get a chance to do that for another day or two; it's the only bit of wireless kit I own.
