I am having a bit of trouble installing an Atheros miniPCI wireless adapter in my Asus m6Ne laptop. I installed the card, booted up, installed the driver and everything worked fine. After powering down, the computer would not power up again until I removed the card. I repeated this process a few times.

I took the laptop to a repair center and they were able to get it to boot up after installing the card. After I got home, it was giving me trouble again. Right now the card is installed, but the computer doesn't even recognize it. Any ideas?! Need any more info?? Thanks!

You could have damaged the card.. I've seen the wifi card cause this exactly ONCE.... It's not common, but you very well might have... hope that's the problem and it's not the socket itself.

I'm starting to think it has to be the socket. If I fiddle around with the card and reboot, it will work for a few minutes, then quit on me. So sad... :( Otherwise, I've been quite happy with the laptop.

i guess that the problem should be the mini card.....
i helped my friend to install exactly the same mini pci card you have to z70va, no problem at all.
For my opinion, i will take out your own card to put another laptop for testing, then make sure the problem still there.

I have the same card and laptop, no problems here.

If you still have the old wireless card, try that again. If not...well, hmm.

I'd see to get a new card and try again

Thanks for the advice. I'm putting this one in because there was no original card. It's also the second one I've gotten- the first was fried. It came from overseas, so a new one would mean a few more weeks. :(
