Try as I might, I can't seem to stop ASUS Live Update and ASUS Data Security Manager Tray from loading at startup. I've set Windows to hide their icons and notifications in the system tray...no dice. If I exit the apps, they reload at startup. I've even disabled them from starting up with CCleaner, but they still do! What's the answer? Uninstalling completely?
Also, I keep getting this annoying little pop-up at times (like logging into Windows) reminding me that I have an "EN" (English) keyboard along with a "Help" button; it looks sort of like this "EN English (United States): ?Help." I've deleted every keyboard but English, and since I assume that's the "language bar," I've asked Windows to keep it "hidden," but it keeps popping up.
Minor annoyances, but I'd like them gone![]()
Actually, I just noticed that if I click on the "EN English (United States)" part of the bar, I get a drop-down menu that lets me choose between English (US) and Chinese Taiwan (Traditional)...but I removed the Chinese keyboards when I got my G51!

I had the same issue with LiveUpdate and Security Manager. I don't use either of those ASUS apps so I uninstalled them.
Never seen the other problem you mentioned. -
live update is best uninstalled, as it can be a resource hog at random times for unknown reasons. the security manager is rather pointless, but you can try going to start->run-msconfg->startup->uncheck ADSM. Also, for the languate toolbar, right click and exit, it should tell you are you sure you want to close, if you want to open again go to xxx. after doing that I never had a problem with it again.

Now, here's the rub with the language bar: I don't get an option to "exit" or "close" in any menuI even followed Windows' Help instructions to dock the bar back to the taskbar and close it from there, but there's still no option to close or exit. Since the Chinese Taiwan option persists even though I've removed it, I tried adding it and removing again, which only hid it temporarily until (as usual) I typed a program name in the start menu box, and poof, up it popped on the desktop again!
Minor annoyance with Asus-ware on G51J
