Hello Everyone,
I recently bought an ( Asus - Laptop with Intel® Core™ i5 Processor - Blue/Black - G60JX-RBBX05) ASUS G60JX from best buy(bestbuy sku = 9736955) and then did a custom install to get rid of all the bloatware. After doing so i proceeded to reinstall some drivers.
Now that i've done all that when i open device manager i see that i'm missing 2 base system drivers.
One is at PCI Slot 4 (PCI bus 6, device 0, function 1)
and the other is PCI Slot 4 (PCI bus 6, device 0, function 2)
Could somebody please tell me what these are so that I may download the correct drivers for these laptop components?
Also, i notice a republic of gamers logo button and i would like to know if that means my laptop supports nvidia's 3d-vision. If so, could someone please tell me where to get the drivers for that.
Thanks in advance![]()

Have you install the inf update?
3D Vision required 120Hz screen, however, if your HDTV is 120Hz you might be able to use 3D Vision kit to connect to your TV. -
Thanks for your reply.
No i have not installed the inf update. Where do i find it?
Based on your second sentence i'm assuming my laptop supports 3dvision... which i don't know how to enable/use. -
You can check if your system is capable of running 3D Vision here:
Can You Run It
You will also need the latest Verde Notebook 3D Vision driver available here:
NVIDIA DRIVERS 197.16 WHQL
As Ken suggested, make sure your screen is able produce a refresh rate of 120Hz. Your laptop is only 60Hz, but if your external monitor or HDTV can do 120Hz, then you should be fine.
If everything checks out, all you need is the 3D Vision Kit from Nvidia and you're all set to go.
To enable 3D in games, you have to go into your game video setting and select the option. -
Thanks for all the help on 3d vision.
Does anyone have an idea what those drivers i need to install are?
Also where would i find the inf update mentioned above? -
You can download the full package from nVidia:
NVIDIA DRIVERS CD v1.24 (GeForce GPU driver v197.16, NVIDIA 3D Vision driver v197.16)
Their nVision player still not supporting Blu-Ray movie and only DVD is supported, but the Blu-Ray will be supported in the near future.
Update: Turn out the G51Jx/G60Jx has HDMI 1.3, therefore, even the new nVidia driver supports external 3D display but the HDMI port does not. -
Now all i need to find are those base system drivers. ^^ -
Google those hardware IDs. That'll tell you specifically (not generally) what it is you're missing. For example, PCI\ VEN_168C&DEV_002B tells me it's an atheros chipset, with the specific device code (DEV_002B) telling me what model/make. -
Thanks for the help guys.
Unfortunately i won't be able to find the drivers because my laptop was stolen a few days ago.... -
