What happened to the driver - the usual link http://ati.amd.com/online/mobilecatalyst/
doesn't work anymore, 404.
Does anyone have the working link, or did ATI disable direct driver download?
Maybe someone already has the latest driver, please post where I can get it from, I would like to test it.

i want to know that to .
*bumping* -

No, that's not what they're talking. It's different. They're talking about the direct link, not the one with the so-called verification software.
-
This does not look promising, at least for Vista.

That article is old news.
But they continued to support XP until 7.5; now gives file not found.
The strange thing is that gives us the exact version: 7-6-mobile_xp_dd_ccc_enu_48643.exe but the file isn't there.... -
I am looking for the same thing. I have an HP notebook and HP refuses to update their drivers, they sent me to Omega and told me to use those. Bah Hum bug.
I have tried several forums to get the URL, but nothing yet. IF anyone comes across the addy for 'Direct' download of the 7.6 Mobility Catalyst PLEASE pass it on to others, that way we can get it out to others, too,
Thanks,

We can use DH Mobility Modder.NET to convert desktop drivers to mobile drivers.
People who use vista do that, so there's no reason not to work on xp... -
I have tried that, and one other, Mobility modder and I have problems with mhy 'Multiple Displays' with the zd8230us. It have Media Center 2005 and for some odd reason I end up with lots of blank screens that I have to 'alt-Tab' through to get to the correct display. That never happens when I get the Catalyst Mobility.
I have written HP (and the CEO) several times about getting Catalyst support to HP notebooks. Bottom line, HP is NOT going to PAY ATI for the drivers, especially when (they, HP) says that ATI is difficult to communicate with and have refused to integrate certain 'features' into the Catalyst that HP wanted. Funny one of the 'features' was the ATI Tray tool which ATI has NOW integrated anyway. All dumba__ politics if you ask me, that leaves the 'end users' in more than a bit of a bind.
I would NOT beable to play World of Warcraft at ALL if I had not been able to get the most recent Catalyst for the past 18 months. If I am stuck at 7.5 I won't die, but NEVER going to buy HP OR ATI again in my life. Nvidia just won my business by 'default'.
Thanks,

^^I agree, the ATI Mobility driver support is severely lacking, but get this -- it gets even worse when you have Vista!
Seeing ATI's general lack of support, combined with their inferior performing video cards, and their deceptive naming scheme has made me convinced that this will be the last ATI card, desktop or mobile, that I will ever own -
The 7.6 Catalyst driver for XP is now back up. I just downloaded and installed it.
http://ati.amd.com/online/mobilecatalyst/index.html -
nope, they moved it to:
http://ww2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/7-6-mobile_xp_dd_ccc_enu_48643.exe
might need it, the 7.7 is a bit buggy for 9xxx mobile gpu
cheers ... -
I wonder why they keep moving the URL?
-
german tinkering character, it would be too boring to make it simple for users. attitude is,
. why would u need an old version if the new version is available?
. if ur system not working with the new version then, u have a personal issue for not backing up ur old one in the 1st place
(naughty mentality, imo)
cheers ...
