hmmm I wouldn't think so, not if they don't already offer the x800 in any of their LT's, but who knows I could be wrong. If they did, it would definitly be high on my list

The W2 is going to be Asus' ultimate as far as laptop graphics performance goes for right now. It's still probably a month away and that'll only have 128mb x700...... so I'm afraid we can't bet on this anytime soon......... it's WAY too much to put in a centrino system.

    Thanks,
    Justin

X700??.. yes!, the answer to me debating on the W3, and of course the acer 8103. I guess 15in screen isn't too large.

Justin, do you have any idea as to the pricing of the W2?
If its around $2000 I'll definately go for it.. if not, I'm seriously considering the acer 8103 cuz of its price-specs-performance ratio.

    Thanks.

If I am not mistaken.. I think Justin posted the price of the W2 to be around $2800. (Can someone confirm this?)

On a side note.. if you are interested on the Acer 8103.. make sure you browse the Acer forum. I was seriously interested on the 8104 but after reading as many users opinions I could find.. I decided not to risk putting my money on the 8104.

Why?.. Acer seems not to have their act together regarding customer help/support. There are just wayy too many angry acer customers out there. The 8103/8104 seems to have problems with the screen (flickering??).. and with the abysmal customer support people are getting.. well let's say that buying this specific laptop didn't appeal to me anymore.

But please don't take my word for it, just do your research carefully. [:)]

Thanks for the input, yes I was looking around and did see some problems regarding screen flickering on the 8104 (same one is on 8103). Seems the laptop was on when plugged into an outlet, but powered off and plugged in, then turned on didn't yield the same probs? Also it may have been addressed possibly, I will look around some more before finally deciding and I'll actually call Acer and find out from someone.

But $2800 can get me near a voodoo laptop over the w2.. I'm looking around below the $2000 mark, thats why I had the 8103 and w3 in mind.

That W2 price of $2,800 was my best estimate at the time becasue people were trying to get me to come up with my best guess. With the current look of the pricing of the ensemble notebooks, I wouldn't be surprised if my number was now WAY high. Even though whatever price they put it out at should be fairly well justified.

    Thanks,
    Justin

EDIT: Exactly when will the W2 become available?

Kinda off topic, but I found out what the problem was with the Acer 8103, it's the actual battery that comes with it (Motorola). Seems if you have the flickering problem, contact Acer and they should send you a replacment battery (Sanyo) which should fix the problem.
