    Hey guys,

It seems that whenever I leave my w3j's monitor off for an extended amount of time (couple hours), there's no way to get it to turn back on. Is there something I'm missing?

Try to change the setting to "Never" in Turn off monitor under the "Monitor Power" and "Power Options Properties" if you don't want it off.
    Cheers

ive got a question, i noticed that the settings in power settings in the windows tab are different from my power settings in p4g, even though p4g is set as the default profile. Which program overrides the other?

also if the monitor is turned off by windows, how can i turn it back on? FN+F7 (w3j) doesn't seem to work

Doesn't matter what Power schemes you choose, as long as you choose all of them are "Never" in "Turn off monitor", "System standby" and "System hibernates", it will not be off.
We have already tested and set it "Turn off monitor: After 1 min" after pressing [Fn] + [F8]. It can turn back on automatically after 1 min. when pressing any keys(doesn't need to press [Fn]+[F7]. If the issue still there, probably, the Windows is out of control about this.
    Cheers

I have the same problem. Computers SHOULD be able to turn on after standby/hibernation/monitor off. I always have my monitor off after a certain time to save battery life/conserve power and sometimes I shut the lid and have it go on standby. But the problem is that the monitor wont turn on sometimes after it goes off or the computer going on standby. Thats not normal!! Turning off the standby/video off option is NOT a solution. The fact is someone has to recognize that this is a problem. My 5 yr old dell has no problems with that. I cant believe I have to deal with this on a brand new ASUS. And I have the latest bios update in which ASUS claimed to have fixed that issue....i dont think so.

And we arent the only ones. This issue has been brought up many times in this forum and the "solution" was almost always along the lines of Set the "turn off monitor" and "standby" options to "never". Well what if I actually want to to turn off or stand by??? Rebooting the laptop is not how it was meant to work. Also, I believe this issue was supposedly solved by ASUS with a bios update (eddie can tell us more about this). Unfortunately, I have the newest bios and I'll reiterate that I still have this nagging problem!

we should get enough ppl to hammer ASUS about this issue. With the quality of a laptop such as the w3j, these software bugs are unacceptable!

any1 else still having these problems?
