This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Yep, Asus has been working on that with Microsoft for the last two years..... Last I saw, the once huge bulge shown on the W5 Bill Gates held up about 18 months ago is gone (or at least very much reduced). The next W5 that comes along this spring is supposed to be the first notebook with the sideshow screen. As much as other (and sometimes I) agree that it's something people will never use and is just there to get damaged...... I know what the goal is, and it's a pretty darn cool thing when it comes down to it. In a few years we'll wonder how we lived without it.

    ... This... is what will once again make the W5 a relevant model... I haven't heard of plans to put it on the W7 - which has killed the W5 sales for the most part.
