    Multimedia card protected ???

    i have a multimedia card is using in my nokia handphone. i cant edit any file in my multimedia card now when i put into card reader, it prompt me a error that "The disk is write-protected Remove the write-protection or use another disk" . anyone help, thanks.

    Pull out the card and look for a tiny movable switch on the edge of the card. Flip it.

    What card did you use (format, brand) and does it work if you use it on your computer? Also, what model is your phone?

    If you dont have a switch on the card - then nokia has locked it internally for write protection (probably for activation ect)

    I have the Nokia N80 and it reads and writes my card just fine.

    You can buy locked and unlocked phones - it was an added suggestion if you read the first part (if there is no lock/unlock tab) and i should have added "Nokie MAY have locked ..."
    Ontop of that new versions come out with new versions of cards, older versions may have the option to lock/unlock, the newer ones might - if you purchse your phone from persay TD unlocked it has capabilities that persay a phone from nokia direct wouldn't have.
