When you max the brightness and move the laptop at and angle to a dark background you can see 3 very light white spots in the middle and its barely visible but visible at an angle and it wont change no matter what... always that wierd tint of white...
What is the problem called? I have it on my UL30VT and I sent it for RMA yesterday with POST ITS on the screen to show where it was... do you think they will see it?

It's either a problem with the backlight if it's blotchy (circles rather than squares) or stuck ("bright") pixels if it's groups of small dots. I am not a huge expert on LCDs & backlighting, but I think it is from the backlight diffuser becoming uneven, I have no idea how this happens.
I have seen it on tons of laptops though.
Stuck pixels are only covered for 30 days on select models. If it's the backlight, you may be eligible for a replacement LCD if you are under the 2 year warranty. I am not 100% sure, it may depend how severe it is. -
I didn't see dots... just blotch o.o
