    Can anyone help
    I have an asus laptop

It just started cutting off when I open it or move the screen. In order to restart I have to take battery out and put it back in.
And some times when I even do that I can open laptop and push the power bottom at the button will flash and then nothing. SO I have to take battery back out. repeating the process several times until it stays on.
Then it will stay on only if I keep the screen towards the back and not move it at all.

Why would id do that ?????

Hello and Welcome to our forum :)

What is the model of your laptop? Is the power button near the hinge or is it near the keyboard?
What I am thinking of is one of the wires going through the hinge has worn out. Causing intermittent shorts or disconnects

There's an obvious defect with your system. You should send it to Asus for service if it's under warranty. If not, chances are it will need to be opened up and inspected by either you or a local technician.

Try disconnecting the HDD and verify.
If your system has multiple memory modules then try one at a time.
If problem persists, then contact ASUS directly for support and warranty services.

If moving the screen makes it turn off, it sounds like you have a short circuit forcing a poweroff as mujtaba said. The cables that go through the hinge are the display cable, wifi antenna cables (not likely the problem), and one or two cables for the webcam/mic which are usually USB.

It may also be possible, if your laptop has a very flexible chassis, that some other component is flexing when you move the hinge. Try holding the computer down at the palmrest to prevent it moving on the table, and then move the lid.
