Had my G1 for almost a year and haven't logged in this forum for quite some time.

Went thru 13 pages of the ASUS forum here and everyone is talking bout G1S, what happened to the G1? Obsolete? We were the most sought after gadget back then :p

Anyway I'm been gaming mostly with this laptop and have been satisfied so far... till I started Hellgate: London 2 days ago. I can feel the lag while playing online and game crashes happens. This game is super memory intensive and to be fair, still waiting for the game to be patched. Hope it performs better after the patch, else it's time to upgrade RAM.

Ok, time to raise some issues.

    1) When my laptop is running on battery, it slows to a crawl. Any idea what's wrong here?

    2) Is the idling HD temp of 55 safe? My cooler fan is giving me problems I don't feel good seeing the temp at 55 :(

1.) Yeah, the GPU underclocks like whoa when you're on battery. The CPU will also throttle down. You need to adjust your power settings if you want to game on battery.
2.) 55 is OK; not super, but not worrisome. What are you using to measure?

One suggestion I would make is to clean out your laptop using compressed air cans and see if that helps lower the temps (if you are really worried about them).
