    I've taken good care of it and it runs just as good today as when I purchased it from Ken at GenTech. I did have a GPU failure about 18 months into the warranty but the RMA process was pretty efficient. I'd never heard of Asus before visiting this forum and I'm glad I took a leap of faith and took the plunge.

    Kinda itching for a new notebook and those Sagers are catching my eye. Get behind me temptation!:yes:

    My M50sv will be turning 3 next month. It has served me well, but now I'm looking at the u series for increased portability...

    My F8Va-C1 (in the sig) will be turning 3 this July. I am planning to use it a year more and replace it with an Ivy Bridge toy.

    This thread brings back memories. I remember when I got the M50Sv-A1 when it first came out (also from GenTechPC). A solid laptop for sure.

    Hard to imagine it's been 3 years and my sig still have the review of M50SV back in 03-13-2008, time flies. M50SV was one of Asus's most successful model, it even outsold their G series at the time. :)

    Let's not forgot also possible upgradeability too! I would to see and own one of these with a GTX260M and QX9300 installed !!! That would be my kind of laptop haha

    You have a sweet configuration and price on the Sager NP8130, Ken. Just a heads up.....when you click on the configure button the default CPU comes up as the 2720 instead of the 2630. If it's a typo you better hurry and change it before the piranhas around here catch a whiff of it.

    I'll also expect a solid discount on my next purchase if I clued you in to a mistake. :cool:

    my m50sv gpu died about a month ago, it was a great laptop.

    i replaced it with a xps15 L502x, which is a great upgrade.
    it is about the same size as the m50sv so it fits perfectly in the m50sv bag.

    My M50sv would have been turning three years old next month, but I accidentally spilled some water on it last July and now it shorts out every 20 minutes. Was running like a champ before the spill though. It used to run Borderlands better than the n61 I replaced it with.

    The m50 is/was a beast. Money well spent

    Try complete disassembling it, let it stay for a few days like that and than put it together. Most water spills can be treated that way unless it was dead at the very first moment.

    My M50SV will turn 3 years old next June! And it's still powerful
    Recently I bought G53SW and I love it :D

    @boogieman99
    2 moths ago I spilled water into the keyboard, made the only A button didn't work. But yesterday miracles happened! It works again, until now! LOL
