    My M6R dvd drive is always so slow

    Is there a fault with my notebook?
    I can burn cds/dvds perfectly, but I've owned this notebook for 4 months now, and ever since i got it, it has always been so slow when i use the rom for ANYTHING. I can't watch dvds..the sound is messed up, i need to decrypt them onto my hard drive to watch...If i drag and drop anything from the folders to my hdd, I can't alt tab and do anything...(open up my computer for example).

    I've never had a notebook before, only desktop computers...i used to watch movies while burning using that! is this normal ?
    unfortunately i'm in a foreign country for another 8 months..(got the laptop before i came) so i can't go back to where I got it from in Australia :(
