Well, its been working great for a while now, but this morning, it will no longer turn on...

The screen stays blank (I do not even get the little intel logo on the bottom right of the screen).

Yesterday I installed new drivers, but it had been restarted at least 3 times after doing that (had been losing internet at my dorm). Also, I installed a 2nd monitor. The drivers were the new omega drivers.

I've tried to reseat the ram and push the reset button but that hasn't done anything, both the notebook screen and the external screen seem to be getting no signal.

the hd spins, the cd drive works when a cd is in it, and it sounds normal (i think), and the green light comes on and an orange light next to it (2nd on the left)

anyone have any ideas? or will i need to ship it back to GenTech?

    thanks for the help!
    ~Matt

most likely u'll have to ship it back to get it looked at. can u hear if the video card fan is spinning up or does the s96j share one fan between the cpu and video card?

Yikes, sounds like the Intel processor had a heart attack. What model/clock is the chip? Hopefully it's not the ES ('gineering samps) Core 2 Duo model---I just got one from Ken too!

My G732 used to do this every few months. I won't say its exactly the same issue, but give unplugging it and taking out the battery for 20 minutes a try - it can't hurt.

i haven't gotten around to that yet- i was trying to find the bios jumper (unless thats what the reset button was).

As far as the cpu is concerned, its a T1200 (1.5ghz intel mac mini pull[core solo]) so its an oem chip. I don't have any other chips to test it out with.

I'll try removing all power sources and see if that clears up the problem, or else i guess it is RMA for me :(
