Hi guys! I got my V1 yesterday and I'm all hyper about it :)

Thanks to Eddie from www.btotech.com for sweet deal!

    Mini-review (aka “lots-of-questions” ;)

V1 looks very business-like; strict lines, nothing excessive, I'm impressed. Cool latch! Overall I'm very happy about new laptop!
I was worried if laptop will be noisy, but it's absolutely not! It's warm on the right side, but even though vent blows to right, it doesn't bother to use mouse. Although I feel that having V1 on my lap will be toasty.

Screen is amazing, but I can see a slight light leakage on both size (is that something I should be concerned about?). Screen is bright, I even have to dim it a bit.
DVD refuses to close easily, needs a small “slam-shut”, but it's not a problem; what worries me is that some of files from my DVDs cannot be read (it sees file, but can't copy them; any advise, please) :(

I got 1875 points on 3Dmark06, sounds good but testing scenes looked quite bad. I was trying to look for alternative ATI drivers, any tips? And why on earth 1700 drivers are not on the official ATI website? :(
    Battery life is good. Kudos!
I've expected V1 to be lighter, but I guess I'm not objective, since the last thing I was using was Vaio TX.

I'll be doing clean install right now, because current system is hectic; I've got 6 monitors registered in Device Manager for example. And 4-inch system tray doesn't help either.

Is there a way to make finger-print reader launch a certain program with a swipe of a certain finger?
How do I disable system-speaker beeping and greeting beep on start-up?

I think that's all. As I said, overall I'm happy with my new “machine” :)
Can't wait to bring it to the class and make Satellites and Dells envy :) [evil laugh included]

If you have any answers please post!
    Thank you!

I hate that swoosh ding thing in the beginning. If you go into the BIOS during start up (F8 or F9 i cant remember) then its one of the options there. Have a poke around for it.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your new lappy! I wish i had a V1!!

if i remember correctly, the testing scenes always look bad. the whole point of 3dmark is the max the system's performance to see how high it can go. i don't think there is a reason to change your video drivers unless you are having some major performance issues b/c changing video drivers has caused many individuals problems.

If my memory serves me correctly, F2 to go into the BIOS, and in there you start at Main, press the right arrow and go to Advanced. Then you will will see the option called Play POST Sound, put that to NO and that will get rid of your start up sound.

Don't worry about the little maount of light leakage, it souldn't be noticable when using the screen.

Your 3DMark is in the same area as MysticGolem's review, under stock settings.

    Thank you for answers!

    Emm...
What is considered a "tolerable" light leakeage?

And how do I remove all those stickers without damaging surface and not leaving sticky substance after removing them?
