I have external devices set as 1st boot priority, but an USB stick that is bootable on my Sony does not load on my Asus ul20a. It goes straight to windows.

Any thoughts or experiencs of reasons why this might be happening or any suggested fixes?

    Thanks.

it's gotta be a boot device priority bios issue. if it's bootable on one computer it should be bootable on another too.
I am not familiar with your Asus model, but notebooks usually allow you to press a button (F12?) when you turn it on to choose the boot device. have you tried that ?

I had this problem recently on a computer (not a UL20A) and had to update the bios to get it working.

Also can you check if your bios has a USB boot method/option? e.g sometimes there are: USB-HDD, USB-ZIP, USB-FDD etc.. As far as I know, USB-HDD might be your best chance to get it working.
