I bought a secondary battery for my Asus Z70Va recently (the modular bay battery) and it doesn't seem to want to charge properly, I plug it into the power and it says it is charging but when I check the battery meter the battery level is always the same. I have tried recalibrating the battery so I am not really sure what else to do. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas for what could be wrong? The battery will charge if I take the main battery out and boot it with just the secondary battery but will not charge if I have the secondary battery and main battery in at the same time. Anyways thanks for any help you can give.

Is it always the same at 100%? ^_^v

No, when I plug my laptop in, and leave it off for a few hours when I come back and turn it on the secondary battery charge will show whatever level it was at when I plugged it in to be charged. So if it was at 77% when I plugged it in, after a few hours it will still be at 77%. One thing that I thought was interesting is when I turned on the power and quit NHC the battery did begin to charge properly.

I would guess only one battery can charge at a time, so the primary battery probably charges first, then the secondary.
Also, what exactly do you mean by 'when you turned on the power' it began to charge properly? How could it possibly charge if it wasn't being powered? -
Err what I meant was that when I turn the laptop on and it is plugged in. The primary battery always has a full charge when I have been trying to charge the secondary battery. I do know that only one battery will charge at a time, but the primary battery has always had 100% charge when I tried to charge the secondary battery. So when the power on the notebook is off (and it is plugged in) the battery charge doesn't increase (I can tell this when I turn the notebook on and look at the charge level for the battery) but when the notebook is turned on (and plugged in), the charge level for the secondary battery seems to increase. So power off, battery doesn't charge, power on battery charges.

Oooooh. Ok.
Maybe that's just the way things are configured. If you think about it, the removable bay is originally inteded for an optical drive, which would not need to receive power when the unit is off, unlike the primary batter. When the laptop is on, the removable bay receives power, and charges. That makes sense to me, but I dunno if it's how things work or not. -
Hmm... that does make sense... Its annoying, but it makes sense. only problem with that is I am usually on my desktop not my laptop so I rarely have the laptop turned on outside of school.
My secondary battery doesn't seem to be charging properly...
