Well, I kinda owed her a birthday present, since we were in the process of buying a house at the time so we couldn't afford to get her one. I asked around on here as to where to get the white W7J, since she REALLY liked the looks of the white, and it had all the specs we were looking for. I was told the white is not sold in the US, so I managed to track one down on ebay, and yes, we had to pay quite a bit extra just so she could have a white one :/

But she got it, and I must say, it's a great machine!! Really nice looking, and we played a couple FEAR Combat games, and it ran great, especially with the GPU OCed.

Anyway, I am gonna write up a review in a couple days here. She's pretty happy to be one of the only people in the US to own a white W7J :D

What is with wives and white laptops. I'm also researching laptops and the other day my wife and I were in Costco and she saw the small white Avertec laptop. "Oh how cute!" was her response. She doesn't care much about specs as modern laptops all work for her needs of using the internet, email and a few word documents.

I was trying to find a white W7J but the cheapest import I could find was $1700. For just a hundred more, I could get the W5f. Although, I may end up getting her a white Macbook for about $1100.

Uh, isnt the W7J a lot faster than the W5F? Why would you pay more?

I should have clarified... The W5F with extra ram and extended warranty was about $1700. The basic laptop is only $1500 and I think I saw a $200 rebate.
As for speed, my wife doesn't really care but it uses a 1.66 Ghz Duo Core compared to the 1.83 Ghz of the W7J. So yes, the W7J is faster but it is not a huge difference. The W7F is also smaller and uses integrated graphics. My point was that my wife only cared about the color and "cuteness" factor.

My GF bought a white W7J also. She bought hers in Taiwan. It came out to be $100 more than the black W7J here in the states.

Geezuz... and to think that I always make fun of people with white laptops.. ;)

To think that there is actually a market for them... boggles the mind.. (at least mine :D )
