    Hey guys-

I've been wracking my brain on this one for the last couple days.

So I purchased a N10J-A1 which comes preloaded with Vista...first thing I did was install XP.

So everything seems to be working fine ect but I have these two related problems)

    A) Whenever I start up the computer I get the "New Hardware Detected" wizard for the following device:

"Audio Devie on High Definition Audio Bus"

    B) I have no digital/spdif connectivity. In windows sound properties spdif is greyed out.

    A little more info..

I installed the latest driver from Asus Website for the N10J.

Also tried the lates from the Realtek.

    Ran Driver Cleaner Professional..inbetween.

I might have tried installing the driver originally before installing the UAA hotfix?

THe audio is coming through the built in speakers just fine.

Only problem is the digital out!!

Thanks for the help I'm kinda coming up against a dead end here..

I believe on the asus website where you get the drivers it states that you must install the MS Uaa hotfix or whatever its called first, then the orginal realtec audio.

    Uninstall everything and install

    1.The UAA driver
    2.Reboot
    3.Install the oringal audio driver
    4.Reboot

As for the other device, did you install the Nvidia HDMI audio driver, if not thats probably what the "new hardware found" is nagging you for.

Silvr 6, thank you for the suggestions.

I uninstalled the UAA hotfix, the audio drive and the NVidia VGA Driver (this has the HDMI audio out I believe). So after reinstalling everything in the correct order (essentially UAA first). I now do not see the "Found New Hardware" wizard.

However, I still cannot use Digital Audio Out...

Slivr6 I noticed you also have a N10J-A1 with XP....

in your audio settings, either realtek or windows can you move the Spdif volume control bar? Mine is greyed out on both the Windows Settings and Realtek Audio Manager...

Is there a setting somewhere to enable digital audio out?

    Thanks!
