    Hi all, me again

Just did a fresh install of windows 7 after finally messing about and sorting out partitions.

Reinstalled all drivers from disc, windows updates and Device Manager but the wireless is not working.

The laptop recognises the wireless device but the signal strength icon with a red cross shows in the taskbar. Troubleshoot states there are problems with driver, no network cable plugged in or broken but running the troubleshoot does not help at all. Attempting to fix as Admin just results in a message telling me the wireless is experiencing problems.

    I've tried:

Reinstalling/repair drivers from disc and ASUS website
    Enabling/disabling from Device manager
Switching the wireless switch on and off
Fn + F2 on and off
    Reinstalling windows again

As a result of doing a fresh install via win7 disc while booted up (and even from start up) a Windows.old folder has appeared in C drive and while most items can be removed/deleted it's still there and refuses to move. On boot up I am given the option of booting into two versions of Win7 now

Been trying to fix the wireless issue for half a day now and really getting frustrated :( any ideas on how to fix this? Should have been a basic installation *sigh*

Thanks a lot for your help and advice in advance!

To fix your double-boot option, go into msconfig: Start > type "msconfig" into the search bar > "Boot" tab > Delete the other Windows 7 boot option

For your wifi issue, did you upgrade the wifi module from the original version? Or is it still the factory default wifi module?
