    Hi,

I have an N55SF which has been fairly good however recently the screen has shown no picture. This happened a couple of times over the last month but tended to fix itself which suggests the cable may just be loose. The backlight shows response to be working and an external monitor works fine, no settings have been changed to result in problem. I opened up the laptop to check the cable which appeared to be fine at the board connection, however i was unable to check the cable on the lcd end as i'm not sure how to take off the bezel and get to it? (i don't want to force or pry at it incase something breaks). Was after some advice on how to do this or direction to a guide which shows it.

Hi I have this exact same problem, my N55 has a white screen, occassionally works if you open/ close it enough and the VGA outputs the screen just fine. It's still under warranty and I have an RMA to send it in.

Does anyone know how to remove the Screen bezel on an Asus N55 to get to the lcd connector?

    Thanks so much

Do this at your own risk.

1: remove two rubber pads at the bottom front bezel and see if you can reach the screws (not eash) without completely taking the system apart:

2: Pry up the edge of the bezel around the screen:

3: Remove 6 screws on the screen bracket:

4: remove the screen and LVDS cable is behigh the screen:
