Hi guys! My processor does not scale over 0.77 Ghz, my energy plan is balance, and the minimun and maximun of my CPU is 5% and 100% respectively.

This occurs only when using the battery and always when disconnected

Asus support recomended install this utility "Intel® Collaborative Processor Performance Control Driver"...

    Thanks :)

What program are you using to check the CPU speed? Try CPU-z, or HWiNFO32/HWiNFO64.

My n550jk does this. It comes with a utility called ASUS Power4Gear which has two custom modes. It defaults to .77ghz when unplugged. If you don't want that I would create a new power plan and play with the advance settings where you have control over the CPU, gpu, etc.

Gtanner, i unistalled this program. I'm with the balanced plan and after disconnecting from the mains, leave my pc with the maximum frequency to 0.77 GHz.

    This steeps reproduced the error:

Start Computer while on DC power -> Unit works normally -> Put laptop in stand by -> Unplug unit from DC power -> bring computer back from standby -> Computer is now LOCKED at .77GH ->

The ONLY way to get it unlocked is to plug it back in. Otherwise, it will always be stuck at .77 Ghz. not even a computer restart unlocks it.

    Thanks

If you have removed it from the system then it's disabled.

    That's good enough.
Have you verified the issue again to see if it's resolved?

Can you go to Power Options -> Select a power plan -> Restore to default settings?
Then use CPUZ/Task Manager to monitor the speed changes.

    Yes i restored and nothing....

Today putting the balanced plan, I have submitted the pc to a load, compress multiple zip.
The limit of the processor has run 1 Ghz, sometimes with the same plan scale perfectly at higher speeds

    Captura.PNG

without using the battery, scale up to the maximum values of the processor ....

I have different behaviors with the same energy plan, connect to battery or not.

    Thanks!

    I find this...

windows 7 - CPU is underclocked on battery (balanced plan) - Super User

The system cooling policy could be the problem. If the cooling policy is set to passive while on battery, your CPU clock rate could be limited to reduce heat and keep the fan running at a lower speed, since higher clock rates translate to higher heat levels and a greater need for cooling.

My settings in balance plan are:

    Connecto to battery: passive
    Not connect to battery: active

    I will test this configuration

Why not just run ThrottleStop and fix this problem. Uncheck BD PROCHOT, check Set Multiplier, maximize that value and click on the Turn On button. Your problem should be solved after you do that. Post a screenshot of how you have ThrottleStop setup if you still have a problem.
