How can I enter the EFI Shell from the BIOS? I have BIOS version 217 (latest). On my SSD I have Windows 8.1, GPT partition, EFI partition exists. Everything is in UEFI mode (despite the fact that I have no secure boot option, see this thread, which I'd like to have solved, too).

But when I select "Run EFI Shell" (or whatever it was called, can't see now it because I'm writing this from the laptop) in the BIOS menu, I just get the warning "Not found" and I end staying in the BIOS menu. What is wrong here?

Do I have to somehow "connect" the EFI partition with the BIOS?

Sorry, for double post, but I solved this problem. Downloading the SHELLX64.EFI file (the EFI shell "operating system") and copying it to the FAT32 EFI partition inside the GPT partitioned disk, makes the shell available. You need to boot from a Windows Disk and use diskpart for this task, to make the partition accessble.

The problem that I don't even get the SecureBoot/UEFI/CSM options displayed (linked thread) stays, however.
