    Hi,

I have just received my new N56VZ. All seemed great (except Windows8). All I have done to date is update Windows8 and added two small utilities to manage W8, there are Classic Start and and Skip Menu Suite recommended by CNET here. Both initially worked fine. After a further windows update and a reboot I am now irritatingly stuck in an infinite loop!

The ASUS now boots Windows and ends at the weird picture screen with battery and time in bottom left corner. When I click the mouse I go to user logon screen, I then logon the screen flickers for a few seconds and I then return back to same damn screen. If I hit windows + D key, or ctrl+alt+del they just take me back to same bl**dy screen.

So OK I thought I might install an SSD anyway, but whichever I now need to access BIOS/Boot menu so that I can at least reset/reinstall/recover but none work. Tried esc, f2, f4 options at ASUS start screen and they have no effect whatsoever. I have tried many times, holding for long/short periods, tapping repeatedly etc but I cannot interrupt the windows8 boot. Appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

I think for your model it's the Del key. Hold it down right as you start up the PC.

As for your Windows login problem, you might need to try booting into Safe Mode (use the second method in that article).
