Got my new N56Vz and after doing a completely clean install, no drivers, no crapware, no nothing. I've reinstalled my required drivers, as far as I know, I'm new to windows 8, and just a few other programs and games.
Anyways, my internet is dropping quite often. About every 30mins, for a minute then reconnects. Is it possible I downloaded a wrong driver or 2 or somethings been set up incorrectly? Or is there a know wifi problem with this machine?
I have about a 25mbps download according to speedtest and a 3mpbs upload.
Another possibility that I'm wondering about, is if there are too many devices connected to the basic router thats in the house and it cant handle it so its disconnecting things at random? There are about 2-3 Xbox's, 3-4 laptops, and around 4-5 phones all connected at any given time. This is just the stuff in our house and it is password protected so nobodies piggybacking off it. It's just the stock one that shaw set up when they hooked up the internet, we don't have a Dlink or Linksys type router.
Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks guys

There's always the possibility of interference. And with that many devices connected at any given time, it's very possible (also, that's a lot of bandwidth being shared). To ensure your driver is okay, try uninstalling it (download the latest driver for it first) and reinstall it.
What router do you use? -
In the US, Asus inclues Wireless console 3 as a utility. This can be problematic. uninstall it. You can always add it back from their DL site if you need to. Also, go to Asus support and manually update your Atheros Wireless LAN software. The auto update function on my unit seemed to hang and never get that update right. I was experiencing intermittent connection drops, or wireless would maintain connection, but not maintain access to the internet (small yellow circle on your wireless indicator). performing these two actions helps.
also, remember to go into your device manager and right click on the wireless lan drivers to disable Windows ability to turn them off to save power in properties.
