    Hi have just received this in the post, unfortunately not opened yet due to broken hand.
    I would like to know if this needs any spacers to fit the 7mm slim samsung 840 pro into it?
    Also is there a link to the correct win 8 iso for this model anyone has?
    Has anyone had any issues doing a clean install, that would be beneficial to know?

    If it doesn't come with a 7mm drive, it won't come with spacers (I think), but the 840 Pro should come with it's own spacer, 7 mm Intel drives do at least. So far, we haven't been able to get the Windows 8 iso like we could for Windows 7. Asus will sell you recovery media, but I don't think they'll do it for free.

    Also, depending on how the HDD caddy is made, you may not even need a spacer, my G73 certainly didn't.

    They almost certainly will charge for additional recovery media - if nothing else, at least for shipping. Bear in mind also that some models use a recovery drive rather than recovery discs; Asus built-in recovery partition is meant to create the recovery drive, so be sure to do that when you get the laptop if need be (in the case of a recovery drive, a 16 GB flash drive or greater is needed).

    :) you don't actually need a spacer - the mounting points.. screws.. go down the same places as before. There's just going to be this gap under the disk towards the keyboard.. er.. upwards between the disk and the handrest, I mean.

    Shouldn't be a problem. If it bothers you, scientifically attaching a cardboard piece on the back of the disk with a bit of tape should work.
