Sorry for the dumb question but I've been looking for the latest ATI Catalyst video drivers for my N61JQ-X1. The version shipped are the Asus 8.680. Maybe it's just to darn early in the morning for me but I can't find a good link to snag these badboys.

It's got the ATI MObile Radeon HD 5730 vid card.

    thanks much

Hey thanks much... I tried playing Napoleon Total War and was getting some weird screen stuff going on with it... my guess is the drivers as I had a G73 which I returned last week (RMA) and I had it loaded on that rig with that monster HD5870 DDR5 and it ran no prob.

One other really dumb question: I've never owned a rig with an ATI vid card (always had Nvidia)... is there a utility for these Mobile Radeon drivers that does the install for you or is it more of a manual process.

Have these drivers made any difference??... just curious

THanks much for the quick response - I appreciate it

Well as far as I know there is no tool from ATI that will update the drivers automatically.
So far the Mobility Radeon drivers came through OEMs i.e. ASUS.
ATI did not offer any notebook drivers directly, but now they will start offering them through their website.
In the next weeks ATI will upload ATI 10.3 driver package on their website and then they will offer a new version every month.
You will be able to download it from here: http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx

I don't know if there is some difference to the older drivers, because I did not try any games on my N71JQ.
What I know is that the drivers which came for ATI Desktop cards in December were very crappy. I had lot of gaming issues with those on my Desktop ATI 5850 card.
The notebook drivers that you originally had were also from December so they could be of same base.
