Just got a N61VG A2 from Amazon. Great computer, though the 5400 rpm hard drive is a tad slow.

The only problem I have with it is the webcam is very laggy and jerky. The image lags a few seconds behind any movement. Sort of funny to watch but also a pain.
I downloaded and reinstalled the driver with no improvement.

    Any suggestions for a fix?

    Thanks

    John

Try playing with your webcam settings (if there are any), especially if there's a white balance setting. Also, some people have experienced higher frame rates when using web cams in a well lit environment.

    Thanks for the reply.
I tied your suggestions (brighter light, changing settings) without much improvement.
Is this normal for ASUS laptops, then? It's irritating enough that I would rather get an external cam than use the internal one. Other laptops that I've used don't have this problem.

This problem isn't restricted to only Asus laptops. Do you have an option to lower the resolution of your webcam? If so, a lower res may help with the jerky motion.
