    Hello all.
I bought an Asus N61jq-x2 off Ebay with a broken screen and keyboard, also the recovery partition is lost. I managed to fix the two first problems but I can't seem to find any way to restore this machine to it's original state. Can anybody help me please? If so, can you please send me back up discs? I need windows 7.
Or what do you guys think about just installing all the uds from the Asus website? Is it the same as restore it or recover?

You're better off doing a clean install in my opinion. If you're willing to got hat way, you will have an almost identical install than what the recovery would give you minus one or two softwares that you can easily replace by free alternatives.

If you choose to do that, we can give you some pointers as well.

Yeah, since I went to the Asus download page I see a lot of software for this machine. This is my first Asus, so I don't know if I just download everything?

You will of course need an installation media for windows 7 as well, you can use the key on the bottom of the laptop to activate it. If you don't have an installation media, let us know, we'll point you to the thread where you can get the iso.

Edgarcalifornia, how did you fix the broken screen and keyboard of that laptop?
To restore the Windows there is already a software in it and is easy, is the Windows in a foreign language you can't understand it?
