    Hello.

I have a problem with setting the P1 disk as the default boot disk on N73SV Asus notebook (BIOS version 306); boot from it is possible manually only.

    Scenario:
    1. Set in BIOS Hard Hard Drive BBS Priorities Boot Option #1 to P1, Boot Option #2 to P0 or "Disabled".
    2. Press F10 to save configuration and reboot.
    3. Reboot.

Expected: notebook boots from disk P1.
Actual: notebook boots from disk P0.

After entering BIOS menu Hard Drive BBS Priorities settings are reset to default values:
Boot Option #1=P0, Boot Option #2=P1", instead of previously set: Boot Option #1=P1, Boot Option #2=P0"

Notebook properly boots from P1 after pressing ESC key during BIOS startup and choosing the boot device. Also boots properly from Boot Override menu; the P1 disk is properly recognised in all BIOS menus.

In conclusion, it seems that the BIOS settings somehow always return to the startup sequence P0 - P1.
There is no problem with any other setting (eg. CD/DVD/HDD boot order).

After raising this problem, Asus found that it should not occur. Finally, they proposed sending the notebook to the service to be inspected.

Before shipping the equipment I would like to ask someone who has a similar model (ASUS N73SV, BIOS ver. 306 with two disks) to check whether his/her notebook also has the same problem.

    Regards,

    Jarek.

Jarek Welcome to the forum. I would try swapping the HDD's to the opposite bays, or reset the BIOS to all defaults.

If you change other settings in the bios setup menu, do they save after a reboot?

There could be a hardware problem if not.
