After successfully updating from Win 8 to Win 8.1 I wanted to get rid of the message/watermark "secureboot isn't configured correctly" (originally in German: "Sicherer Start ist nicht korrekt konfiguriert") that showed on the desktop. Internet told me to enable SecureBoot through UEFI which I did. Now, my notebook will only give me the black screen when I turn it on. It is running but won't even let me enter a setup menu by pressing the keys in the top row.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to solve this or has successfully solved the same issue? Many thanks in advance.

Need a newer BIOS to support Win8.1 with modified key token.
You may need to remove the old VGA drivers. Try an external monitor and see if you can access the system again.
