Hi all.
I have bought N76VZ and I have installed Windows 7 64 on it.
I have 2 display adapters in device manager :
Intel HD 4000 and nVidia 650M.
I can't set nVidia 650M as display adapter.
I have installed drivers for 650M (tried both from ASUS (2012.06.14) and nVidia (2012.09.13) web site).
I tried to disable Intel HD 400 adapter. Windows falls back to VGAsafe driver. Tried to disable VGAsave driver, Windows wouldn't boot (although I have windows logo on screen; they would just get stuck or maybe I didn't wait long enough).
How can I force windows to use 650M?
NOTE : I don't want some software to switch between Intel HD 4000 and nVidia 650M. And I don't care about 650M draining battery.
I just want to run 650M all the time.

Just go to the nvidia control panel, select "Manage 3d settings". Put the global default to the Nvidia card. And down in the options, set "power-management" from Adaptive to "Prefer Maximum Performance".
It's not really much point to disable the intel graphics, by the way. What happens with the Optimus thing is that the screen context is opened on the intel graphics, and then the rendering takes place on the nvidia card. Same thing with an external monitor. This is really a good idea in many ways, because it allows the nvidia card to render things without needing an exclusive context. Less flickering, less weird full-screen effect problems, none of the "entire system needs to be set in a lower resolution" thing. .. you know, The Future! Progress! Nothing like when the dedicated cards needed a pass-through cable, at least.
N76VZ - force nVidia 650M as display adapter?
