I plugged in the external SonicMaster subwoofer that came with the laptop, but it won't work. I plugged it into the special yellow port for it, but the laptop won't recognize it.

I updated the Intel chipset driver, Realtek audio driver, and reloaded the default BIOS (as instructed by ASUS support). When I play an audio file with Windows Media Player, the laptop speakers work fine, but the subwoofer still won't work.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

    - The cable was not pushed all the way in. There should be no space between the orange ring on the port and the orange ring on the cable. You should hear a click when it is all the way in and then the laptop should recognize the device.
